I am in the process of disassembling my 22. How do you remove the steering levels and the cover of the transmission. I have the gear shift off and the main cover off the top of the transmission, but the steering levers and the other cover under the main will not come off. Do you remove the large 1-1/16" steering lever adjusting nuts from under the rear access cover or is there something else that I am not doing????

Thanks

Yes remove the cotter pins and unscrew the two adjusting nuts. Be careful not to drop them into the steering clutch compartments!

Thanks. Not to worry about dropping things into the steering clutches, there is mounds of rust already down there from the access cover, it was pretty much rusted away. Plus I dropped a scocket a few days ago. I had planned on a total restoration anyway, and taking everything apart to clean, strip, and paint. I'll get my 9/16" socket sometime next week when I take the steering clutch housing off.
