My narrow gauge 22 has the pivot shaft froze up on it. Any one have a miracle cure? I've tried sitting and looking at it but that's not working. I haven't had one of those apart to know if that's a major job or not.

Thanks,
Brian

hello BrianK, pivot shaft on the 22 should come free easy ,pump some grease into the fittings ,grease fitting ,one near the foot step ,one beside the step ,i would say that the grease has just gone hard after sitting for awhile .if you jack the front up under the radiator should tell you if they will move OK ,my 22 sat outside in the rain for 30 yrs and the grease had hardened but it didn't take muck to get them moving, bruce oz

spin the outer nuts off the end caps and spray some penetrating oil in there. also spray some into the bushings in the center where the angle irons run to. we had out 22 completely apart this winter. our pivot shaft was so worn we took it out and our local machine shop copied it and made a new one. we also needed all 4 of the bronze bushings to be replaced.

Try throwing wrenches around the shop while swearing incoherently 😄 If that doesn't work you can try the other guys suggestions.
