I have a 1936 CAT 22 orchard 2F (1st series) that I am restoring. The previous owner installed a top seat and removed all the tail seat related items. I am looking for pictures or something to figure out what I am missing. Today I welded the tail seat section back on and am in the process of removing all the standard controls. I know that I am missing the linkage from the right brake pedal and however it attaches to the brake rod. I have the bracket with friction handles and rods, hand clutch complete, and the linkage from the left side brake. I don't know how the friction linkage is going to attach to the current friction handles. I will post current pictures tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Andy

Bruce thank you for the diagrams, they will be very useful. Hopefully I will not need to track down too many parts, I am sure that they are hard to come by. Thanks again

I have an orchard model 22, serial 2F 237 that I think is pretty much factory original as far as the controls. I can take pictures of it tomorrow if that might help.

I would appreciate it Randy, I plan on taking some pictures of mine tomorrow too, that way the experts will be able to tell me what I'm working with (or without).
Thanks again

Thanks Randy, that is a nice 22. Unfortunately the controls on mine are different. Mine is a later model, 2F7404WSP. I installed the clutch linkage today, brazed up the warn pins and holes in the linkage and greased it. I still cannot get the clutch to disengage when the lever is pulled back. One more try tomorrow with it running and then I think I will have to split the tractor. My thought is that either the input shaft is seized or the pressure plate is stuck to the disk. I already washed it out with diesel. Here is a few pics.

Well, things did not go so well today. Clutch is still stuck. I am in the process of splitting the tractor. All that is left to do is finish removing the spring and take out the rest of the bell housing bolts. Wish me luck that the disk is not too far gone.

Well yesterday I tore most of it apart and today finished taking it apart and mostly putting it back together. The clutch disk was rusted to the pressure plate and flywheel, as well as the input shaft had some rust on it. The clutch disk looked very good so I just cleaned everything up, removed the rust and put it back together. Now that it is apart I am going to clean the gas tank, install new gauges, install new fuel line, rebuild fuel pump and fix a few other minor issues. I am going to have to post a wanted ad for the missing parts to make all the orchard controls work, or just make some parts that will work (but not be correct).

Just an update for anyone who cares. Yesterday I finally got her back together enough get her running and try and brake the frictions free. I adjusted the friction freeplay out of it and filled the housing up with diesel until it started running out. Then we (my dad and I) chained the 22 to our backhoe and started dragging the backhoe with the 22 while pulling the frictions and using the brakes. Not much luck yesterday other than 4 gallons of gas used and a well rutted driveway. I tied the frictions back last night and let it sit. Today we had much better luck. The left frictions broke free on the second pull and the right took 20 more. SUCCESS!!! Anyway just wanted to express my joy and prove that it can be done!
