Hello, I tried to reuse the headgaskets on my 22 by spraying them with k&w copperkote, it didnt work for me. I was able to buy brand new gaskets from cat, but that was about ten years ago. caterpillarman

There is a guy on the web that makes solid copper gaskets. Gasket works I believe the name of his outfit is.

Travis, you can also try www.olsonsgaskets.com. They sell gasket sets for your 22. Not sure if they sell just individual gaskets, but you can call them at 360-871-1207. Ray

I have a friend that runs those counterfeit red colored cats that seem to have a lot of head problem anyway. But he heats a good use gasket in the oven, with the idea the copper will puff up and soften in the annealing process and seems to have some success. But the red parts seem harder to find than real cat parts.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
