Hi, Chumduffy.
I have heard a rumor that the current plan is to video ALL the FUNNNN when we strike the water table and sell it to anybody interested as a DVD - WITH names captioned into the video - plus post it on Youtube, to help pay for the show. As I understand it, each person wanting to play in the reservoir will have to sign a release 'agreeing to the terms' before they begin playing.

LOL.

So far, nothing has happened with the pumping down program and I have just sent an e-mail enquiring the status of said program.

Deas,

As you know, Chum is allowing me to arrange to move his D8 2U out of the Sierras and over to SM so that he will be there in some way even if he is not present in person. Maybe we will get lucky and he and his crew will surprise us by attending. The 2U has a nice big winch and is ready to play a possibly important part in your rumored video! I will let you use you imagination on how that might come about! Get with the dewatering program. This one is not a LGP tractor!

Hi, Jan M.
I can't help but think that the control lever for that front CCU might be a little STIFFF????????????? in operation. LOL.

That machine might also need a fairly substantial anchor to be of much use as it doesn't appear to have much left of its own 'toenails'.

Lacking toenails, I bet we could use those three large hooks on the top of the blade to anchor it! I have not figured out why they are there unless to chain up large logs and move them around. Or maybe, to anchor the tractor when winching logs. I understand this was used as a logging tractor.

A reasonable to me guess would be that it may have been used in a yarder logging operation and them hooks held mast anchor lines. May have been anchored by the winch also if needed or used to get itself out of a pickle. I may be corrected.
