Hi guys, I’m in the process of getting the oils for my 2 ton. It says fill everything with engine oil.
I want to fill the engine with engine oil obviously. I just need to know what grade?
Also I can fill the final drives with the same oil.
Now I have heard that the transmission can be filled with thinner oil to help steer it. Does it need to be classic grade oil with no detergents. Can anyone tell me what grade that needs to be??
Thanks stew

A friend of mine ran tractor hydraulic fluid (Hytran, Hygaurd) in his steering clutches. He said it steered lots better that way. When I get around to fixing my two ton, I’ll likely run straight 40 wt Delo 100 in the engine, same as my Sixty.

BP.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
