Hello, can anyone shed some light on this please?
I've never been inside a TWO TON but when I restored my TEN, I took my list of bearings to a bearing distributor. They were able to cross reference most of them into current manufacturers. A couple did not cross reference so I brought the actual bearing to them. They measured them and checked their data base. I eventually got them all but some took nearly 7 months to get. We had to wait for some company to place an order to have them made! Believe me, I didn't think anyone would have a use for a tapered side load bearing that matched my steering clutch pack bearings but eventually someone did and I was finally able to get them.

Hi Stew, I'm sure you know all of this already - I bought some hard-to-find bearings at a local specialty bearing shop but was aware that many of them are Chinese specials, with fewer rollers and such. If you're able to get on to discountbearings.com or something like that, you can cross-match them and maybe get a cross to something that's NOS. For some of mine, I've resolved to just keep an eye on them understanding that I might have to replace them sooner rather than later - sucks, but at least I can keep it running.
Hi Neil,
How are you mate??? I don’t like Chinese bearings as they are cheaply made and don’t last long. I prefer to pay a little more and buy good bearings. I have taken the bearings to 2 places and they are looking into it at the min. They are struggling tho.
I’m hoping to have a phone call tomorrow saying he has found them, maybe a bit of wishful thinking.
Good to hear from you
Thanks stew
Doing good thanks Stew, I trust you are too! Yes those low quality bearings are almost not worth it - I've only used them in a couple of applications where they're easy to replace and I really couldn't find the "correct" bearings, and I wanted to get some progress. I'd never use them where it counted that's for sure and I'm always on the lookout for the correct bearings.
I’m really good thanks mate,I am slowly getting there with the bearings but it ain’t easy.
Anyone have any info?
Thanks stew

Hi josh,
Thanks so much for the reply. I hope your well. Where did you get these from?? I have been told Hyatt are no longer going, do you know if this is true? They are the bearings I have in my gearbox. The first one you put there are x2. There is one more little bearing in the gear box with a gear at the back that don’t move just turns. If you were sat on seat it’s at back left of gear box. Here is that bearing.![]()
