welcome to the Forum.
Scan below should help.
Early drives had double row ball races for bearings and later ones had bushings.
Should be a slinger for oil control but if the bushings are worn I guess more oil would be passed thru the bushes and so leak oil out the front. Worn bushes and a resulting a worn front cover shaft bore, engine blow by and clogged engine breather would add to the leak problem too. Early engines had a pitifully small breather that was later enlarged to no doubt overcome some of these issues.
The section on the second page "Assembling the Fan Shaft Assembly Complete" should get you there.
Unit is likely stuck by solidified dirty oil residue. Maybe try tapping the drive housing around, to attempt to turn it with a soft face hammer first.

Could you please tell me what book that info came out of?? Is there a service book for the 2 ton?
