15 psi will work just fine.
Hi Wayne, what Wally said. The 22 is a great tractor. My cousin's 22 takes quite a while to start registering pressure. The big ends and mains are quite worn but I understand there is a high volume of flow to make up for loose tolerances. In any case, it never gets more than a third up the gauge. What items need work done to them?
Hi Team,
scan below tells what the gents above spoke of right from the Big Yellow Father.

My earlier 22, a 2F in the first thousand built runs at 25 lbs for a while and drops to 15 when warmed up. At hot idle it drops to 8 or 10 psi and I dont worry about that at all. Grant.
I have a somewhat related question. My aftermarket oil gauge works fine but I cant find a water temperature gauge that fits the opening. The old ruined one had a brazed up adaptor and I have not found the right combination to fit a modern (inexpensive) gauge. Any suggestions???? Grant.
I was going to try my hand at soldering a new bulb from the auto store on to an old gauge face. Someone on the internet did it and apparently it worked well. The reading might have been off a bit but you can adjust it when sitting the bulb in boiling water

I have a modern SW gauge on my 22. It is a wings edition and cost about $70 at the parts store. You also have to buy an adapter for the bulb to fit the 22. I will post the numbers tomorrow of the gauge and adapter. If you want the original look I have some broken original gauges that you can work on.
