I have had a bee in my hat for almost 40 years now. Would someone help me solve it.

I was harvesting in the hills north east of Paso Robles for a neighbor. There was a set of grain trailers with a converter gear attached and a 1H D8 (slide bar) to move them with.

It was simple enough to start it but when I went to pick a gear to go, there were no markings in the shift tower nor decal on the dash, so I picked a slot and went. All worked out well and the trailers were positioned for much better efficiency for the combine. I unhooked and parked the D8 and never needed it again.

I never took the time to learn the shift pattern and it has bugged me ever since. No, I can't find it on the internet.

Would someone help me relieve this nagging issue for me please? LOL

Eldon was my Father. Ernst brothers to the north, Jackson & Reinhert to the south, Von Dollen to the west and Keys Valley Ranch ( Johansing) to the east. I was on the Keys Valley Ranch.

I think the ol' D8 was a Kenny Kester or Hillman acquisition that Barney and Peter inherited when they bought the ranch in about 1977

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
