Hello,
I bought a D6C 99J. I seen quite a bit of moisture the transmission. I drained the transmission oil. Do I also have to pull what I believe are the two steering clutch plugs and flywheel clutch plug located further towards the front? I’m waiting for my maintenance manual in the mail. Thanks.
Mlauck1,
I'm new to this, but just drained the oil in my D6C 99J2111 today and drained the three at the back and the one under the flywheel. There is a sump at the flywheel that can be removed as well with a metal screen that can be cleaned.
I just posted a question regarding the connection of the flywheel clutch oil system to the rear oil system of the steering clutches, brakes and transmission. I'm not positive that the oil is replenished to the flywheel clutch area from the rear system or not. I hope it is, otherwise I may have to take an inspection plate off of the flywheel cover and add via that area. Hopefully someone will get back to me on it soon.
I've got digital copies of the service and operators manuals and a hard copy of the parts manual if you have any questions I might be able to find the answer. I think mine is a 73-74 model so there are probably a few differences. Mine has the turbo 3306 which I think was one change.
