7A13218 is not a good s/n for a 1961 D8H which would use the D342T 235 hp engine.

Is 7A13218 a legitimate serial number for any D8? Maybe owner could not read all of the serial number. I believe there was D8's with 17A serial numbers...is that correct? Thanks for your help!

Not a good number, at least not a good prefix for any D8.
17A's are D7's, 47A's are D7's
The D8H's are 36A and 46A's

Thanks for your info and help. I have seen just one picture of this unit. I'm thinking it is actually a D7. If the serial number is 17A13218, would that be correct that it is a 1961 model D7? What engine would the 17A D7 have in it? Horsepower? Turbocharged? Thank you! Roland

17A13218 would be a 1959 model with D339T engine 140 hp and oil cooled clutches and brakes.
