Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1956 Cat D2 5U with headlights, switch, ampmeter and pony starter. It is a Delco 6 volt, 18amp generator. The generator checked out fine and the lights I bought were 6 volts so I'll use them till there are problems and then swap to 12 volts.
Being "cost effective" for now.
Thanks....Bill

Thanks Old Magnet !! That is what I needed. I hope to have everything together in the next few days. I got the carb done and back on the manifold. I was having some suspicions about the governor spring on the pony so I ordered a new one of those as well.
Gotta like these winter projects !
Have a good evening.......Bill

The original light switch is a 7F2921.....more commonly mounted in the dash.

Machinery Trader shows some vendors that have some. Go to the site and scroll down to "Machinery parts for sale", click on that and punch the part number in the box. Hope this helps.

Well I got most everything rounded up now. Found an NOS Cat/Delco voltage regulator. I have working Guide lights ( bought them from d4Harry). Found a pair of light brackets, new switch, original amp gauge and Old Magnets wiring diagram. I do have one question though. In the attached picture of the hood the two holes for the light wires to pass through are not quite far enough back to miss the radiator. Is this the norm? I have the grommets already installed but wonder if they will raise the hood to high.
Any thoughts would be most helpful.......Bill

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
