Does anyone know if the flywheel teeth on a direct start 7U D4 are slanted or straight. I took the 24 volt starter off my dozer and was going to replace it with a 12 volt 42MT. I didn't notice it but, my starter man called me and said that the teeth on the starter drive are angled. Do they make a 12 tooth starter drive for a 42MT with slanted teeth?

All pony motor Cats have bevel gear starters and ring gears.
Either 11 or 12 tooth bevel gear starter drives a available for the 42MT

Do you have any part numbers for those drives or know where to get one from?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
