Good deal on the TB setup. Mine wasn’t as complete as yours, but then again half the fun is scavenging bits and pieces to make all complete. What’s the issue on the pony motor? Hope to see it in action and all of the pads and rippers shiny soon.

The pony is free, but the starter doesn't turn very fast. Im thinking that its a grounding issue. Im not getting spark either so my plan is to clean the points in mag and go from there. As hot as it has been this summer im lacking the motivation to work on it Haha. Im hoping for more progress in cooler weather

For the pony starter, remove the main battery cables and sand-paper all the connections, then spray a bit of deox on them. If the cables are less than 2/0 size, replace them. You need thick cables and good connections, including the clamps for the battery terminals. Run the negative cable to a bolt somewhere close to the starter motor assembly, and make sure there's bright steel (no rust or paint).

If you are using a 6 volt battery, change it out to a 12 volt. The starter will turn twice as fast and it wont hurt the starter unless you crank for a few minutes and over heat it. I have used 12 volt on all of my tractors with pony engines and have never had to replace a starter.
