Hello again gentlemen of ACMOC. 😊 When I have had questions in the past, y'all have been quick on the draw with answers and help. Well I need your help again to find a diagram of the main hydraulic pump with parts list for a 1957 D69U.

For those of you that remember LOL I was looking to buy an older Cat D69U about 6 mos ago............well I FOUND one and have an agreement of sale, it needs the main hyd pump reinstalled (the seller had it fixed recently and has just never put it back on) before transport. She seems to be just what we were looking for and I am in the planning stages to travel about 600 miles in April to actually put hands on her 😄 I want to have the diagram beforehand so I know what we are looking at to install the pump and a parts list in case I have need of it, my fingers are crossed that everything is still there from when it was removed.

I would appreciate y'all help with this, if you wouldn't mind sharing. Thanks!

More information is needed. If it has a Cat built hydraulic system you will be in luck the information is here, but if it is something else there are a lot more venerable.Cat built more than one setup it could be, so a model no. would help if it is Cat.This bunch is into pictures so if not Cat built pictures are probably the best way to identify.

If it's Cat original hydraulics it most likely is the #46 hydraulic control unit. They are pretty much self contained but make sure you get all the lines, linkages and most important the drive coupling hardware.

Old Magnet......I have not seen the dozer yet, but he is telling me that the only thing upgraded is the electric start and the newer style bolt on sprocket segments, that everything else is original Cat. Said he was using the dozer and broke an ear off the drive line, he removed the hydraulic pump and had it repaired and he has all the parts ready to be put back on but he doesn't have time to put it back on. I am planning a trip in April to go and get the hyd pump put back on it and making sure all is in operational order before arranging transport (we are over 500 miles away)since there is not a way to load the dozer without being able to lift and lower the blade. I was wanting some kind of diagram of how everything goes together and a parts list (just in case something is missing) so that we know what we're looking at with doing the repair ourselves. Thanks

If you can, get the s/n off the hydraulic control unit. It is located on the left hand side of the rear face of the hydraulic control tank assembly.

s/n most likely begins with 25Cxxxx but there can be other models. Even though they are similar it would be best to know the exact s/n.

Once identified I have the info your looking for.

No, that doesn't work, those are casting numbers and we need part numbers to identify and really need the unit s/n. All the tank cover part numbers are the same so that doesn't help and the filter housing part numbers I show are 5F3638, 6F6667 & 8F7789.
You may have a s/n beyond my parts books published in 1958 & 1956, so the best I can do would be to furnish info for the latest model I have.

Do you realy need to have this operational for the hauling?
Usual solution is to jack up the blade and chain it in position for transport.

Lady cat skinner, When you go look at it you may want to take some chain and a jack or two along. If you decide to purchase it and can not complete the pump install you could simply jack the blade up and chain it up. Then it could be transported. Just be sure there is no loose couplings on the front of the engine when you go to start it. It might save you a second trip and enable you to finish the job at home. Seems no matter how much we prepare it is a rare day to have everything we need with us anf for all to go right. Always nice to have a contingency plan or two when traveling far.

OOPS, should have looked. OM just said the same thing. I walked away for a while and did not refresh.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
