i think the spec is 10 weight motor oil?? nothing wrong with 30 weight either. i run a tractor fluid that matches my other tractors so i can share hydraulic cylinders and the oil is 10w30 based.
So I could run a 10w30 instead of straight 30? I’m just having a hard time finding tech specs of the specified oil. It seems the hydraulic tank and blade must be an attachment since it is not in the manual. Just the tractor specs. Also I wasn’t sure if there was a possibility of overfilling the tank since there is no dipstick or sight glass. Just glad I get some pointers by you guys. Thank you!
I use ISO 46 hydraulic fluid in all my machines---I think its about SAE 15 weight oil---a lot depends on what the temp environment you will be running it in--I like hydraulic oil because it has anti foam additives along with some water absorbing additives

yes you can. i prefer to use a hydraulic spec oil for the anti wear and oxy properties.

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
i use caltex(chevron) textrans tdh and it is a universal harvester and tractor transmission and hydraulic oil it is a 75w80 gear lube and iso 68 hydraulic oil and is approximately the thickness of sae 30 engine oil. i also use it in the transmission.
it is was specifically developed for case ih cane harvesters and field transporters
When I ran a shop for a county, I had every make machine known to man. I used tractor hydraulic fluid in everything. I even used it in Allison transmissions. Works with all clutches and frictions. Works great with antique hydraulic pumps to modern variable volume piston pumps.. I buy it at Walmart or Tractor Supply now that I am retired.
