I purchased this Cat grader years ago on a farm sale because it is the same model that was sold as a companion with the John Deere BI (industrial) tractor that I have. I do not know alot about it other than some stuff I have read that partains to the BI and it was called a No. 4 road patrol. It has a brass Caterpillar plate along with another one that has a no. 3D 448 which I would guess is a serial no. I have only seen 1 other this size and it had the controls at the rear, where as mine are run to the front for access from the tractor seat. What I'd like to know was how many of these were produced? Is there any literature or manuals available for this model? What year might it be? The JD BI's were made from 1936-41. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks I will attempt to attach a photo

I have a couple of Cat pull graders and I really enjoyed reading and seeing Chriscokid's compendium about the pull graders. I have gathered bits of information on these graders from here and there but Chriscokid's is most complete that I have seen. Thank you Chriscokid.

I am working with a group of ACMOC members in putting together a complete grader serial number listing Book that we be avaliable for sale sometime later this year.
It will be avaliable for purchase thru ACMOC and its website, this project is just starting and we will keep everyone posted on the progress, it will be a great addition to the Track Type Tractor Serial Number Book that is avaliable now. http://www.acmoc.org/store/p4/Serial-Number-Reference-Manual/product_info.html
