It was well worth waiting three years, you have a very nice looking machine!
Thanks for sharing.

That would look very good in the ACMOC mag, for the "then and now section".
If intrested let me know and I will get you in touch with the right people.

thanks for all the coments, and yes the tracks are on backwards, after going threw the steerig clucthes ,transmisson and removeing the engine/clutch and rebabiting the rods and mains, i wonted to see this money pit run. after running it the final drives seemed ok and quiet, and trying everything short of haveing the local dealer come out to push the pins out to split the tracks for $750.00 (i even made a bracket to use my hydralic log spliter of my skidloader)i decided not to tempt faith.who knows how long they were on there?im near kansascity, lane

Nice job.

Here a a couple of scans from Issue 19, April, 1996, ACMOC Newsletter. This article by Dave Smith gives a great deal of information on the Sixty tracks.
There is at least one picture in Form P-1227, Serviceman's Reference Book for Caterpillar Sixty Tractor, showing the later style grousers on a tractor with the grouser to the rear.

It is your tractor and you can run them however you want. You should be able to remove the master link on those tracks with out having to use a track press.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
