Hi, Matt.
I have already sent the gentleman an e-mail asking for verification of that price and for further details including whether or not it is a 'runner'.
Let's see what develops. Who knows, I may even get an answer.

Dear Deas,
$40,000 USD. Complete rebuildable core. Anybody restoring an extremely-scarce 15 Holt tractor needs this.
Best regards,

Methinks this character THINKS he knows the value of a dollar. I even asked him if he could tell me if it is a 'runner'. All he could say in response is that it is a 'complete rebuildable core'. Now just what does that mean?
I don't have a use for it, especially at that price. Anybody here got bottomless pockets?
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Hi, Tom.
Following is the text of an e-mail to the guy requesting further information.
Quote:
"Hi, Steve.
Thank you for your prompt reply. I have a couple of further queries to help determine if it is what I need.
1. Do you happen to know which model of Holt crawler this engine came from? 1915 is not all that helpful as Holt had several crawler models by then..
2. Do you happen to know the bore and stroke of the engine or can you determine these measurements as they will give me a clue about its origins?
My interest stems largely from the fact that these engines are nearly as common as breast pockets in G-strings here in Australia because very few of any make of crawler tractor were imported into Australia until after the first world war, many not until the early - mid 1920's."

I will keep you posted regarding any replies.
Hi, Catman.
Yes, we are enjoying our wonderful, balmy summer. Ha, ha. It has been raining on and off here since Saturday - ours, not yours - and looks like it will continue for at least another couple of days. Some places more or less locally have already around 4 inches but I'm not complaining. It's cooler.
Methinks I will attempt to elicit further information from this gentleman to see if we can determine just what it is that he has that he thinks is made of 'unobtainium'. Who knows. It may be something interesting that he can be talked down to a reasonable figure on. If not, well......................
I did notice that the JD "MT" tractor he has listed, is in fact a Model 'A'. For a non-running 1947-49 model, the price he is asking is seriously a bit too much.

Hi, Art.
Many of the items are quite possibly worth the prices that he has on them - - - but ONLY if he can find somebody who is willing to pay those prices, if you get drift.

Thats why he has so many to offer😄
I wouldn't mind having the kerosene manifold off that F-20 for my duckbill F-20 but at that price I'll pull the one off our '35 F-20 that RUNS, and we only gave $1000 for it!
