I am finally getting our d8 finished after 6 yrs. Had to go through the undercarrage, 9 in. pitch with 7 roller bottem, Completely went through both engines, top to bottem, new radatior, oil cooler, steering clutches and # 25 ccu. Just wrapping up the painting. first question: can you add wet look hardner to cat paint? I did and so far it seems to be ok. Second: I took all the bottem pieces off the oil bath air cleaner to clean and paint, peeled out the o-ring seals on the bottem two sections and threw them away. Got in me parts book to get # to order new from cat and my parts book has no pt.# or breakdown for what I need. my pt bk had a srl.# break from 13A 1757 to 1763excluded. mine is 13a 1759 can any one help?
Will post pic when done, we have been taking them all allong. It will be in Portland in Aug. Thanks in advance, Jim Gangle

Here is the later air cleaner but doesn't show what you are looking for. Looks like those seals may have been part of the assembly.

Jim, Take the parts to a shop specializing in hydraulics. They should be able to come up with o rings of some sort.

I just looked in the Cat dealer catalog "One Safe Source" from the dealer and there is a section with all diameter "O" rings in it and the part numbers for them but it lists them in MMs but no big deal to transfer it over if you can come up with the diameter in inches. Some rulers have both the inches and MMs on them.If you can come up with the old ones you throwed away take them with you to the dealer or wherever you go to look for some.

Or get bulk length and glue them yourself. McMaster has both round and square cross section.

Hi Team,
I seem to recall only one seal at the oil bath bowl to main air cleaner body joint. The seal P/No is shown in OM's scan as 7F2094.
The later dry element units had two joints, and therefore two seals are needed, one at the cyclone body to main body and the second at the dust collector bowl to the cyclone body (The dry elements have their own seals/gaskets)
The seal prevents oil spillage in steep angle work and prevents air leakage at the joint interfering with the correct operation of the cleaner.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Is this what you are looking for? This is the same air cleaner as in OM post/photo, the 4H9898 which is the 13” and newer up date, showing two “O“ ring seals. This air cleaner was the former 3H3306.

You got it nailed, Kelly. That is exactley what I am looking for. Do you have parts numbers for the two o rings? The 7F2094 seal has been discontinued from cat. Jim

Probably two of the same 7F2094's
Try Florin Tractor...says they have 84 in stock....or do a search on www.machinerytrader.com lots of them listed there.

Jim ,
No I don’t. I think what is required, is the same number as OM as posted, 7F2094 I’m sure it is the same number for both “O” rings. I would suggest calling around and see what you can come up with….you never know what some of the older shops might have.

It's not surprising that Cat as discontinued the seal. Were talking about a seal that is 55 years old (+/-). There were other engines that had the 13” air cleaner so you might ask if they have any seal for them, just in case one might fit. Good luck with finishing up your tractor.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
