I'm freshening up my 13a engine and I need 1 new piston. The one I sourced looks the same but the skirt is 1" longer. You guys think it will be alright.
Thanks Jesse

Could be the same weight with a lighter wall thickness all around. Weigh them to see if there is a difference.

The skirt is probably re-enforced at the bottom, if cut off it may be somewhat thinner. Keep looking for a better match. What is your original piston part number forged inside?

Looks like 1F3042 is the casting number for piston 1F3043, which crosses to 1H5889, the piston assembly of which 1H5888 is part of.

I think if I cut it off it would be to thin because it it is thicker at the bottom then tapers in. The 1h5888 is the original one and has notches cut in the inside of the skirt to give the rod room which the longer one doesn't have. Seems like cat made a lot of changes with pistons. I think I'm going to have to keep looking.
Thanks Jesse
