While surfing around the forum I remembered that I need a engine oil dipstick for the 12E .
Original was lost last year in the woods somewhere!

If someone has one they can can measure and post I can make one.
Would need measurement from where the cap part bottoms on tube to the full and add mark.

Thanks!
David

David - I would imagine that Cat would stock the dipstick and the price would not be unreasonable. Have you checked price and availability from your local Cat dealer?

Hi Oz
Our local Cat house is not that great.
They can usually manage to break what ever they fix and don't seem to like ordering parts for non current.πŸ˜•

Have heard rumors that they have improved in the last 10 or so years----
Guess its time to find out!

Thanks

the dipstick on our 12E is 22 1/8" from the inside of the cap to the Full mark and exactly 24" to ADD.

This dipstick tube is fastened to the oil cooler on the D333 engine and the stick is a flexible strip like most automotive engines. Part number 5M7546
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare timeπŸ˜„

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
