Last week, after finally getting to grade our community ranch road following some welcome rain, I found the right rear tire FLAT on my CAT 212 Grader the following day...The grader has some really old tires...near to worn out...and this one finally has to be replaced...So, I started calling around to all the Tire Dealers on the Net for 11.2-24 Ag tires...
The Denman 10.00-24 tires don't seem to be available anymore...One of the Tire Dealers I contacted for the 11.2-24 Ag tires was...Nebraska Tire...
[email protected]... sent me a price list of their 11.2-24 tires...and also included the following information...
I received this message from Nebraska Tire...
"STA (Specialty Tires of America) does have the molds from when Denman was making this tire. Denman went bankrupt about 2 years ago, I called STA just now to see what the possibility was to get some 10.00x24’s and they thought maybe next late summer they may run 100 tires or so, but no guarantee they would for sure. We have had several guys put the R1 tractor style on, it works sort of, the bead flange area fits a bit awkward, but can be done"...
I have sent an "Inquiry" to Specialty Tires of America to ask about the production of the Denman 10.00-24 tires...
www.stausaonline.com/contact/inquiry.html
Might be if other owners of CAT 212 Motor Graders made "Inquiries" on the production of these tires, It might show enough interest that Specialty Tires will make a run or these tires...
I'd rather have the Denman 10.00-24 tires on my graders instead of the really aggressive tread of 11.2-24 Ag R1 tires...One of my graders has these Ag tires on the front...and it's really hard to turn the grader around...without power steering...I'd like to wait and see if Specialty Tires of America is going to make a run on the 10.00-24's...before buying 11.2-24 Ag tires for the grader...
So, anyone got a used tire for a CAT 212 ?
Respectfully Submitted,
Carl
