What are the chances I could find a hyd pump ,lines,cylinders ect to mount a cable operated blade for my D4 1939. I only have a the front shaft out of the engine to work with. I've attached a pic of my machine for reference. I'm located in Noblesville,IN 46060

what is the serial no. very important as updates were made over the years and early parts may not fit later models. and vise versa.

try tillys crawler parts at Toowoomba. they wreck cat, komatsu and Hitachi machines plus others too. they also sell complete machines some in running order. never know what they have in the yard a phone call is best. now cable blades are run by a winch and clutches(called a cable control unit or CCU) and have a frame to carry the cables up over the machine and down to the winch drums mounted at the rear of machine.

hydraulic machines are different again and there is several different blades including toolbar type blade systems that can be converted to various rippers and ground engaging points.there was a few different pump setups over the years too from the common front mounted type44 hydro control unit to rear mounted units driven by the pto output of the transmission. originally cat didnt make blades other companies like letournau and la plant-choate made the blades and attachments. the attachments and spares for them were supported by cat dealers though it changed around ww2 that cat started to make their own stuff.

I think the shipping from Aussie to the US might be a bit pricey, I have a hyd system and blade off my 4G which was made by British Standard that he could have had, but same thing again the cost.

Could you use the blade that came with it and mount the lift cylinders on the frame between the tracks and engine. Put a tank and control on the fender. Looks like the boys are having a good time.

That's what I hope to do is use the blade I have. It doesn't have to be 100 original hookup.  These boys are nuts over this machine. Our first machine on tracks and a pony motor. They are hands on kids.

I must be missing something, why all this hydraulics to mount a cable blade?

I can make cyl mounts ect. Just need the hyd equipment first
 

Your title reads your looking for a "Blade" the body reads "mounting cable blade"???
Your most likely having to buy a parts machine having the parts that might fit, cable or hydraulic.
Shoes aren't suppose to rest on brake pedals.

I have a #44 hyd. unit off a 7U D4 but you might need a longer drive coupling because of the oil cooler on the front.
