Good morning, I know this a long shot, but I would like to find a front PTO for my 9G D7. I'm thinking it would be a clean setup for live hydraulics.

The PN for the complete unit is: 2B4900.

Shaft alone is: 2B4892

Just the shaft would be a start and I could likely make the rest.

Believe you have the same mount holes used by a 44 pump or LaPlant-Choate , why not use one of those systems?

Stephen, I honestly never thought about a 44. I thought those were for later machines with a 4 bolt pattern on the radiator. Was there one for the older 2-bolt types? That would surely be slick if it were an option.

I've already got a Dakota pump and fender mount tank/valve. It came from a 4G D4. I just need a clean way to connect the pump with the front of the 8800 in place of the hand crank unit.

Bruce, here is a pic of a D2 bottom tank next to a RD7 tank. I held the parts together and the pattern looks the same.

Gosh what a dummy I am, since I've taken the radiator off my 9G I haven't really looked at it. I just walked up to the shop and sure enough just like your picture. So then did a 44 ever come with a provision to mate up with crankshaft on a 9G?



I would need to replace this unit with a coupler to the crankshaft along with a seal to seal up the crankcase.

If your book shows the parts for a front PTO you may be able to replicate the engine end of the arrangement. Worth a look in the 35,40, RD6 books as well. How about the attachment books that are blue/green colored

I've got a Diesel 35 book and it shows the same PN for the front PTO attachment. I don't have any of the blue/green attachment books. I see Florin Tractor has a shaft so that's a start. I reckon I can build the rest.

I've got one on my 75 but no pulley. I read that it can be used for generators or air compressors and can only be used for around 20 hp or so.

It would be interesting to know what the original intent of the front PTO was. Parts book just shows a keyed shaft with a nut on the end.

Shurley a smallish hydraulic pump wouldn't tax it to much.

I have a front PTO I took off a 9G RD7 to put on my Fifty diesel but it would require changing the bottom radiator tank and moving the bumper. It was hooked to a LaPlant pump with a homemade resovoir on the fender with a 4 spool valve if you are interested.
