I looked and they have a bunch of other machine tools and such - I suspect it's some sort of a low overhead broker organization or something out of the backdoor of a pawn shop. Did not inspire confidence in the machine. Most of their other listings are scattered across the country and the location is buried in the bottom of the description despite it saying CA at the top.... sure suck to find that one the hard way - buy a machine thinking you can go pick it up and find out you owe shipping from Canada!

I agree with all comments about buyer be ware. But if anyone has a need and is a distance they are comfortable hauling it may be a good machine.
Seeing the location it may have been used to load vegetables out of wet muddy fields. Way back when dealer sent out a magazine they did a story on growers needing to carry vegetables out of the field in wet weather (it used to rain here sometime)and tired machines were not getting it done.Loading a pallet of vegetables is a little different than loading logs. But it may still be junk.

The listing says Santa Paula CA, which is "near" Los Angeles and Ventura. The pictures in the back ground do look like the Santa Paula area, for what it's worth.

As an ex military machine I'd guess it probably came out of Port Hueneme, not far away. Certainly seems worth a look at $7K starting price.

For what it's worth this machine has been on/off Ebay for 3 years+. Was $12k first time I saw the ad in 2012.

Thanks for making the original post about the 941B. I had seen it on eBay on and off over the last several years but never really took it too seriously.
After some of the posts called into question the Seller I decided to call him and find out what the story was. As it turns out he is a dealer in used machine tools and has been so for over 50 years. He even bought some of the original tools out of the Cat plant in San Leandro when that was finally shut down. He is not versed in selling Cats as this is the first one he has ever sold.
When I quizzed him about the tractor he said he had bought the 941B for a very specific project at his ranch and had been done with it for a number of years and it had been sitting mostly unused for a number of years. He had purchased the 941B at Port Hueneme several years ago. The story he told me is that the tractor had come back from Antarctica and sold through the auction. When I asked him the next question you all know what I was looking for. I asked, "Does the 941B have a name"? He said "yes, her name is Patty and that is painted on the back of the fuel tank".
I went down to his ranch is Santa Paula the next weekend, we put some batteries in the tractor, checked the fluids and she roared to life instantly. The tractor was on a flat spot on the side of a mountain and the owner asked me to drive the 941B down the hill to the barn. As I had never driven a pedal steer tractor it took a bit of getting used to but I made it down no problem.
When I parked Patty and did another walk around the owner casually pointed and said there is the 4 in 1 bucket for the loader. We haggled a bit and I bought Patty.
Garlic Pete and his mom came down to meet me a couple of weeks later to haul Patty to Paso Robles. Pete had not told him mom what they were going to haul so Garlic Mom got out of the truck and exclaimed "you didn't tell me we were hauling Patty, YEAH!!".
There are a few fixes but Patty is pretty sound. Glen and Pat Ghilotti and their friends got to see Patty yesterday on their way to the D9 adventure discussed on the discussion page and I think they liked her. Patty will be making her show debut at Santa Margarita over Memorial Day Weekend so come out and see Mary Ann's not nearly as cool and much younger little sister Patty.
Thanks again Rome/KG. Tom Madden
