thanks for responding. at one time I put juice to the starter and it didn't spin, but the armature turns freely. if u want these u could send me a pm with your address and I would send them to you. upon delivery and inspection I would ask that you send the mentioned items. thanks, john

I saw a video u posted parting out a d6 8u. I checked shipping rates from ca to ny through ups and came up with 350.00 for 500 lbs. how much would you want for the above items, one solid front idler, one sprocket hub and sprocket shaft, and say one complete steering clutch for parts? thanks

Mons, the sprocket shaft, isn't that the dead axle that goes all the way through the transmission case?

i meant the hub and collar that the sprocket is connected to, the parts with the splines IH2436 and 4F6061. Im getting prices around a 1000 dollars for these two items alone, if I cant get a good package deal on a bunch of stuff then I will hold out for a parts machine. if the sprocket comes of the hub with ease chances are the splines are not ok, obviously you shouldn't take anything apart unless we came to an agreement, however I believe there is a large demand for these items. thanks these parts are specific to the 8U and one of few that separate it from the 9U, ive seen some of your work and know that u have a great deal of experience, but in case u don't know special tools are required for disassembly, although people have safely removed the sprocket with a bottle jack the hub in theory could be left in outside case and shipped that way, just a suggestion

Mons, the easiest way for me is to unbolt the final from the transmission case and ship the whole assembly to you along with the big drive gear, case, and sprocket. This will give you several extra parts. My D6 has beautiful undercarriage if you wanna buy the entire transmission assembly and tracks.
I'm out of town but I will try to get some pics.

mike I checked time zones and tried to call you but couldn't get through. my tractor needs so much tlc that I cant see buying 3000 worth of parts when I can easily buy a whole machine for 4-6000. however if your into tractors and your parts are as good as you claim I would trade straight up? I need at least 8 bottom rollers as well(don't know if you still have them)this tractor runs and operates beautifully and is unmolested. its a fordson major. I also have some fordson attachments , but I guess well see if your into tractors first
