Need D2 U series fuel transfer pump

More

The fuel transfer pump on my D2 5U 5353 is shot. I need a good one, or at least drive shaft and gears.

Will pay reasonable amount, or have some spares, such as piston, rod, crank, pony carburetor and more for D2 U series that I would work out a trade deal for--some with cash in one direction or the other.

I had a friend who was a machinist make a new shaft for my D2 transfer pump and also machine down the wear plates next to the gears, along with tamping in new seals--made it like new!

I can make a shaft. I worked as a machinist for 10 years and have both a metal lathe and milling machine. I'm not, however, tooled up to make gears, and these look like they need to be replaced.

Sure do wish it were possible to edit the thread titles. A big thanks to whichever moderator edited the title for me!

well most forums you can't edit the title.
did you have a working fuel pressure gauge? that can tell you a lot about the fuel delivery system
I had to improvise and add one one my D3B to find out where i was at, and use it to follow the progress on my repairs! finally solved:thumb::thumb: the problem after 3 years of hard starting!! :thumb:

Yes, I'm spoiled. On the Old woodworking machines forum (OWWM.org) the titles can be edited, for a time.

I have a gauge that looks like it ought to work. (It hasn't had anything to indicate yet).

r d4 and d2 pumps the same? i took my shaft off the gear and had it ground and chromed. i guess my gears and plate clearence was ok. after put it back on the fuel pressure was and has been great. my shaft problems were cause by rust in the fuel system. good luck.

Your in need of a pump besides the one you currently have on?

Dang, is more cold coming? It's supposed to be mid-fifties tomorrow in Western NY - I have a bunch of siding to finish up so I hope that's the case. Next week I don't care as I'll be in the Big Apple making more clams to support this habit....
Cheers,
Neil.
