I have a Adams #10 Elevating Grader for sale or to trade. I know this is a Caterpiller site, but it would look great behind a Vintage Cat. This is sold/traded as seen in pictures plus witha McCormick Deering 10-20 (Model 200) powerunit (which needs worked over, as ran 10 years ago but has since locked up). I also have a complete Parts book that goes withthis machine. This Machine is Located in Jerseyville, Il (I am located in Carlinville, IL). I am asking $5000 for it ar a trade for comparable gas Caterpillar. Please PM me with any questions or offers.

As for more clarity the Elevating grader looks like the one in pictures 1, 2 and 4. I would also consider the total restoration (to get running to compete paint) of my Cat 10, Cat 30, and Cat 22 as trade for the Grader.

Thanks all for looking. I found some pictures I took of this from Last December. The Serial # is 216 from these pictures. These where from my cell phone so the may be unclear and small. I am truely wanting to get some of my Crawlers running and restored out of this thing so money and or the restoration of the listed crawlers in the amout of the $5000 would be the way I would love to go one the sale/trade of this Elevating Grader. The order of the restorations would be the 30 first followed by the 10 then the 22 which is running now. If interested PM me and I will tell you more on the restoration condition of them.THe 30 is a cold weather package (hood only) with belt pully on back, the 10 has PTO and I have had for 16 years, and the 22 runs but need clutches relined and master links.

what are the overall dimensions of the grader and what size crawler does it require to pull it?

I am not 100% sure on deminsions as I really have not measured it. The rear axil width is around 12', wide and over all length with tounge is around 25'. As you can see in the first pictures we hauled from around Fargo, SD to Carlinville, Il on my 20" (18' deck plus 2"Beaver tail) by 7'6" toy trailer. (And yes we had wind drag). We pulled it with my 2003 F250 Ford. The picture is our second trip home. The first trip contained the tounge, belt carrier, priginal Buda engine (which has been scrapped as it was too far gone), plow beam, and anything else that would come off. The second trip that is pictured we pushed the grader on the trailer removed the back wheel and put one on trailer ant the second in the back of pickup, chained it down and made the long trip home. When we moved it to the show grounds in Jerseyville (Hasil Dell north of Jerseyville) we had a lowboy haul it with width (a we left belt carrier on) and rear wheels. If I get some time next week I will get over and get some measurements of it.
If you would like to look at it come up Labour Day weekend for the Jesey County Victorian Festival on the Hasel Dell grounds. It runs Saterday, Sunday and Monday. He does Civil War reinactions (as the site is the only Confeterate Generals mansion in the State of Il), other Civil War related items, Threshing, Sawmill, Shingle mills (the owner of the grounds has a horizontal mill and we bring our virtical Chase mill over), Steam Plowing, along with tractors, and small engines. Sorry forgot size of crawler. I am guessing about a Cat 30 would do just fine as it is a power unit grader, but a Cat 60 would look great and give you the extra power to really put the disk plow into the ground. I have moved it around without the extra weight of the power unnit on it with my 22 and I knew it was back there but it pulled it.

Also the parts book list the Buda H298 Six cylinde rmotor and the International P30 as the original power units for this machine. I had the Model 200 as a power unit for out Shingle mill but if locked up over winter and I have not gotten into it.

We pull ours with a Diesel 35. Ours is powered. Weight I do not know? it is always hauled on a semi. Does yours have a sliding rear axle? Ours has extended conveyer on it. My son can make the 35 talk when he is in the seat on the grader. Taking the conveyer apart can be time consuming.

Our rear axle are held on with u-bolts so I quess they are sliding, but our rear wheel on the conveyor side has an extension welded onto it making it even wider. And yes getting the conveyor off and on is a pain in the a** . It was hauled over to the grounds it is on now with wheels left on and the conveyor pulled all the way up, permitted through back roads. I do not recommend hauling it the we did home from ND but it worked for us with what we had.
I figured a 30 to 60 size crawler would do it, just depends on how you like to hear the Bark of a Cat.

I think a 30 would do it. It depends on the soil and how deep you cut. To move ours down the highway you have to slide the axle in and remove the conveyer again like you a pain. our machine has a rack on top to hold the conveyer. The only other thing we do is remove the disc so not to cut the belting. as the shoe will slide up against it. A very different machine to run and would make some one a nice addition to their collection.

Got some measurements off this beast.
Back end width with wheels and plow on is 11' 5" and with wheels and no plow is 10' 4"
Back end width with rear wheels removed and plow on is 9' with wheels off and plow off it is 8' 7"
Front wheel width is 7' 7"
Heght to Highest point of grader not counting belt is 9' 4"
the total length withthe tongue and back wheels still on is 24'
The length drops to 16' when the tongue and rear wheels are removed
The belt deminsions are 4' 10" wide by 19' 6' long if removed.

you mentioned that your grader has a place on it to hold the conveyor when it is taken out for transportation. Do you have any pictures of this as I do do not see a place for it on our grader or any listing in the parts and operation book that I have. Thanks
