I lined up one for you yesterday but it is in Nebo in Queensland, and the fella who owns it has offered to bring it down to Bordertown in S.A for me so I can pick it up there, but he lives on a station out of Alice Springs and is not going to his property at Nebo till the end of the year, and from there back to Alice Springs and then hopefully down south, a journey all up I guess of about 4,000 miles, so it might be 6 months before I get it, can you wait till then.
He wanted $150 for it only because it was full of oil, I figured if you didn't want it I'd hang onto it, and it was from a D2 4U like your tractor, he had a couple of new bottom roller seals but needed $70 each for those to cover his cost, and he had 4 used but apparently OK seals and was talking $200 for all the seals, he converted his D2 to Duo-cone seals. He has a non running pilot motor off a D2 4U I'm buying from him too, that will be coming south with the oiler.
regards
Mike

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me Mike.
There is nothing like a well travelled grease gun!
I am starting to get a wee bit excited now after eighteen months of bottom rollers, Idlers and track frame repairs I can now see the yellow light at the end of the tunnel. The last item I need is the greaser before I get to play.
I will take the grease compressor on offer if it survives the journey, but I will also keep looking for another in the meantime. I don't think I will be able to wait six months more.
Cheers

A slightly cumbersome fix for your predicament could be to install a buttonhead fitting on a standard hand grease gun (with rubber hose rather than pipe nozzle), fill it manually, and use it judiciously.
Should work fine till you can get a volume compressor.

i just pushed in button head fittings and hand filled the rollers/idlers with a 100ml syringe. carefully. That roller grease should flow easily if you warm it a little.
I sure wouldnt have the patience to wait. good luck

yes this what I did but the McNaught button head fitting cost me 90 dollars!!
Works fine though and I also undo the fittings/bung on the opposite side eg., of the front idlers to flow the grease through better and save pressuring the seals too much. An old guy in Vic even went to the trouble of fitting relief valves to the inner ends of each track roller!

OK, if you can't wait 6 months then I better lend you my button head grease gun adapter, but remember it is a Boomerang, it must come back to me once you get a Volume Pump, OK?
PM me your address and I send it out in the mail Monday.
Me personally, I'd be using 140W or 220W Gear oil in those bottom rollers, not a 00 grease, because the oil will pump easier and flow much better within the roller bushes offering better lube, particularly in cold weather, if you find your seals leaking badly then go to a thicker oil.

Thanks for all the great advice and your kind offer Mike.
I have now purchased this afternoon the button head coupler from e-bay for $40.00 US including postage. I should have it in the next week or so.
I am going to make up a temp jigger with some flex hose and an old medical bag. With the coupler attached to the end of the flexible hose I will squeeze it in to each roller. I can't imagine that I will ever put too much pressure on the seals with this bit of gear. I just hope the bag doesn't let go.
I agree with you Mike in regards to the thickness of the grease. I have mixed equal parts 180 gear oil and OO grease to make a honey like consistency. It flows much better than the straight OO grease but still very thick.
I will keep you posted with the progress.

Sounds good Palmer, too bad you are not closer because you could borrow my volume pump to fill those rollers.
