I have a neighbor that is selling out and I don't have the money to buy them so I thought I would let members know what is for sale. He has two 15's and a running D4. One 15 would be easily restored and one for parts. The D4 runs good with pony motor carb problems. If interested call Jim Smith 559 877-4566 central California
d2, 2n, 8n, 4000, cub cadet 169, massey compact, home made tractor, and more
Exact center of California

All of those look very nice.
That toolbar on the D4 is really nice, but it sure is wwaaaaayyyyy out there. I wonder if those are D6 toolbar arms or something? The seat on the d4 looks familiar, too. Buddy Daron thinks every Cat should have an office chair seat, so this one would fit right in for him.
Pete.

The brackets on that tool bar, look to be on the wrong sides for the standard dozer application, that's why it is so far out in front.

18" between back of blade to rad shell is about right for d4's. those look long and without the pump and guard it really looks out there. this ain't the only setup i seen like this. seen on d2's too. i cant hardly believe is d6 because the truions maybe would be larger. don't know 4 sure ain't never seen d6 toolbar tractor or its stuff. i wonder if it was made like this to make it easier to grade with?????

Its probably only 18 inches.
Looking at the photo, I would hazard a guess to say that it is not only the angle of the photo giving the illusion but the time of day(angle of sun) and the settings used to get the detail all in one photo.

My guess is brackets are more forward on the track frames. You can see the guard by the sprocket so the arms doesn't rub on the track shoe. This tells me they were looking to do more rear tool bar work than dozing when the brackets were fitted.Having the blade mounted farther forward would make grading harder,as the blade is farther from center of balance.
