I've found the OE shifter boot at CAT but for $30 I think I'll find a CV boot that might work. Does anyone have an application they found that fits well?

How can this seal (really just gunk), be replicated? A heavy grease soaked foam cutout? My dealer does not show it listed. I just cant bring myself to reinstalling it.

I bought a aftermarket one for my D2 5U a month ago and it cost about $5 or $7, I can't remember if I bought it from Tilly's here in Australia, or Florin Tractor Parts in Sacramento. Try Florin, they are a bit closer to Yuma than Tilly's in Toowoomba, plus they have the new steering lever covers you obviously need for about $8 each, already primed!😆.

MM, thanks for the tip. Florin got back with me today. No new, or used shift boots. They do have the packing for underneath....$7. Seems fair.

Unless someone has other sources for that boot, I'm putting a CV boot on my shopping list at the LAP stores.

Too bad Florin don't have them, I must have bought mine from Tilly's here in Australia, and it was only a month ago, but it was a thinner rubber than the original I noticed. If you find something that is close in the U.S. let us know, or if you get desperate one of the nice Australian ACMOC members up near Tillys will be happy to help you out I'm sure, someone like Ol Deas Plant or LJ are in the region, Tillys are 1,000 miles from me and interstate freight often costs more than the parts.😆 Get those "covers" from Florin for your steering levers, they are about $8, but Florin don't have the little spring that sits underneath them, but Cat. Inc. do, at about $8 each:jaw:
Good luck

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
