We took the Sixty, Twenty 8C and RD6 to the 'Man From Snowy River Festival' in Corryong this weekend. The Sixty created lots of interest, especially when people saw how it was started with a bar and spitting out of the decompression taps on the side. Was a fantastic weekend, lots of activities including all the horse events, dog trials as well as lots of stalls etc. The local vintage collectors club had many Fergusons and other wheel tractors and cars, so it was good to get some Caterpillars lined up with them. Will try and post some photo's later, if my skills are good enough

The next big local vintage rally is in September, we hope to line up the Sixty with Thirty, Thirty Five (gas), Thirty Five (diesel), Forty (diesel), RD6, Twenty 8C, RD7, D8 2U, D2 4U.

You will be busier than a one armed poker player with fleas in his shorts that weekend, lining up all those old Cats, are you sure you ain't stealing any of them from the USA because some folks over there get a bit touchy about that!😆 I look forward to seeing the photo's, you might have to get the Dragon Lady to help you post them?😆

Mike,

I prefer to call it a 'permanent loan for a fee' from our US cousins. Yes you have it right, there is a container or two or three of nice tractors to come home from the US. I hate to see any of them going to the smelter, am a strong believer the developed world owes a lot to these old Caterpillars, thats why I like to collect, and put them on display for people to appreciate.

It's great there are Aussies like you buying these old girls and saving them, there seems to be a few too many going off to China lately.

Hmmm, you might be right Ian, though she's not called The Dragon Lady for nothing, I might let you go to that sale alone!😆

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
