Hi 2 Ton Holt , Order as per your Book nos. The numbers you give , as you showed ,will update on Dealers computer and they can order accordingly OK. However if you are dealing with early Parts Eg 10 and 15 Parts you need to change the Following . EG Part no V272 add an 0 in front of V and an 0 in Front of 2 = 0V0272. many of the wiz kids on parts do not understand . Parts must have 6 Digits to register . New machines now have all Numbers. Have a look at Cat Bolts for example , you will note the above info shows up very Often eg an 1 1/2" x 7/16" was T772 now it is an 0T0772 .
Hope this helps you LJ

I'm looking at some of the part numbers in the For Sale section, and wondered if there is a resource that we can use (before calling the dealer) to look up superseded part numbers? Would getting a Cat account enable that look-up?
Cheers,
Neil.

Those two part numbers have been out of the system for a long time, the last note of them at all that I could find, was a price on the 1A7491 from 1958, and on the 1A7501, it updated to 6B5516. In about 1968, listed with the note that the part was unreturnable, which I believe meant it was discontinued and the last of old stock.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
