hi guys,

anyone got a wrench size or part number for the track adjusting spanner for a D4 6u ?

also, i have a funny feeling that the bolt though the recoil spring is snapped.
i cant see through the spring at all and i have just aquired this dozer.
when i compare the length of springs on either side there is definately a difference,
with the side with the tight track definately being longer.

how bad is this ?
if i use it like this am i setting up for certain deatyh of the track ?

the spring lengths should be the same as there is a back stop and a front stop---the spring bolt is only to hold it compressed to install it. One spring may be broken, has reduced resistance and is compressed somewhat.
I would check that out before using it that way.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
