Thats got to be a typo in the D337 & torque converter conversion specs where they refer to a No. 20 scraper. I'm thinking that's a No. 80 (2D) model.

Hi Old Dozer 3T,
welcome to the BB.
The Original engines were replaced with an engine of higher horse power and RPM's for scraper push machines. The extra ground speed allowed faster load cycle times-hence more production.
Scan below may help.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Why does it have such a little narrow blade on the front while having so much more power??

Actually, you're both missing the main reason for developing these. This was back in the heat of the cold war, and we were furiously working to expand our nuclear weapons capabilities. These tractors were developed to work in the uranium mines, where the very heavy ore needed to be pushed up. Even with their extra weight and horsepower, the ore was so dense that that small blade was all that the horsepower could push.
Pete.
