I know I'm gonna get flogged for asking this. Does anyone know the approximate weight of a 1959, IH TD25? I'm trying to save it from the scrapper if its worth it. It is about 80 miles from my house, and I already know it's too big for my 25 ton lowboy. I just need to know about what it weighs so I can start looking for a lowboy to borrow to haul it home with. It is an ex-military machine if that helps.
Going to go look at it this morning. Thanks for any help.

If you go to www.redpowermagazine.com, get on the construction equipment forum, there should be somebody to answer your question-
My cousin once had a TD25C, & I know it was a chore to haul-outweighed a D9G...the earlier 25 won't be as heavy as a C, but still a pretty good chunk of iron...

Hello,
Around 45000lbs for the C series.

lf it is a TD25c parts are non existant and are worth - scrap, i was told that the C was to be avoided at all costs as the finals are weak and first generation powershift where also trouble.

The TD25D is apparently the one to have, however parts are in short supply.

Went and looked at it today. It is actually a TD24. The army tag on the machine say it weighs 54,200lbs. The blade is an additional 12,000lbs. Looks like it is gonna be really fun to move. The only good thing is he has a new blade for it that he bought at army surplus that has never pushed a clod of dirt. Plus, I paid well less than scrap price for it.
Would it be safe to move this thing on a 35 ton lowboy?
Thanks for the replies guys.

Hi Rennix,

you go out for an International TD 25 (turned out to be TD24) to save it from the scrap? You made my day! :clap2:
Let's become friends - maybe one day we make a party on your grounds, driving around with some of your toys in the evening.

Other boys (like me) collect wonderful toys like this, without risking instant divorce: https://www.ebay.de/itm/FIRST-GEAR-Planierraupe-Bulldozer-International-TD-25-Crawler-1-25/192702692328?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055359.m2763.l2649

For you, Rennix, only the r e a l stuff seems to be good enough.

So - Rennix and the others, who replied to him: have a nice day. Let's enjoy life and let's make the best out of it.

whom I am? Hm... you can get to know me a little bit at these clips, and I have to admit I do not post here by purpose, but recommend to have a look:

That is Chum Duffy's son Jimmie running his dad's TD 24. They were running it around when I was at their Open House last June in East Smethport PA. I should have made an effort to have a go on it but I was having too much fun on a 14A.

A lot of the big Cat iron I see in You Tube videos at Brownsville belongs to Chum.

I have had a TD-25C...and run others.. Those were great machines... The B's were ok, but not as good. They DID NOT have weak finals in the C. They make a D8H look sick.. I also have one of those.. a 36A and a D9G also. Parts for A TD-25C are available also, but getting expensive. You can get anything for them still. The DT-817 Engine was one of the best and biggest IH six cylinders built. 310hp in a 25C. I don't know where you got the info, but it is incorrect. The 25-C in general was a very good, fast and powerful machine. A bit complicated with two speed steering, but anyone who ran them liked them for the most part. Comfortable to run also... I traded mine back to the guy for a D9G, just because I wanted a 9G. Anyone who says a 25 is heavier than a 9G is nuts too. A D9G with a 9C blade and winch weighs 90,000 lbs with 30 inch shoes. A 9G with standard pads 9C blade, full ROPS and 9D ripper weighs 48-50 tons. I have hauled them many times. A TD-25C weighs 73,000 lbs with standard blade.
