Ok here is a update on my d7 after spending $500.00 + for some gaskets from my local cat dealer here are some pictures. Tell me some things you see wrong and how to fix or ideas on what to do when I get to those problems. Also in the pictures is the original engine that threw a rod the guy saved it in case he needed anything off of it.

Just some things I need are?????
1 pony motor starter switch
2 covers over track springs
3 skid plate under transmission
4 seats
5 original pony air filter
6 spring

this is just some things i will be looking for when $$$ is available.

Happened to see this recent post with no responses so thought I would comment.

That ol'gal has seen some hard times.....hard to tell what needs what first but I'd have a go at upgrading some of those undercarriage fix's. You need to round up a parts donner which shouldn't be to hard to find.

Really to many items to address all at one time so maybe post for questions as you proceed with specific repairs.

Like that gantry crane.

This ones bound to keep you busy....and broke for quite awhile. Thanks for posting the pictures.

One brick at a time. I had a long list on my 3t . Four years later I am breathing a little easier.

thank you guys for responding to my post.

I hope not to many pictures but I like to see what others are talking about.

This is my first cat and I'm not trying to make it as nice as all of your tractors. Just would like to be able to use it. I am proud of it don't get me wrong. Have a lot of trees to clear and like doing it my self. My first dozer was a 1950 A C hd 10w that my dad bought for $600.00. every hour of work I did with it, 2 hrs of work had to be done on it.

It finally broke down so bad it was going to cost more to fix then probably worth steering clutch housing broke and had a very tired engine.

my first goal is to get the engine running in good shape. This was my first big diesel to work on as deep as I did,

My experience is my Dad in the auto body shop business all my life, automobile Atlanta Porsche Restoration/ service/ used auto parts for 2 years, Ford tech for 2 years, Honda manufacturing of Alabama in paint final repair/ inspection for 10 years to present. Odyssey/ Ridgeline/ Pilot/ Accord v6.

Thanks again and I will be asking a lot of questions and showing updates.

Nothing wrong with keeping an old work horse running and doing the job it was intended to do. Enjoying doing it is a bonus. Bring on the questions!!!

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
