It took some doing, but I got the Ten put back together and took it to my first tractor show with it this weekend. A bunch of towns here in Illinois along Route 66 get together and each host little events. People can take a cruise down the "mother road" and check them all out along the way. My old hometown hosted a tractor show as their event, so I figured it was a good trial run for hauling and showing the Ten. Plus my mom and dad are close by so my family doesn't have to spend the whole day with me and my tractor. They were calling for rain, but it was gone by the time the show started and it turned into a beautiful day. The show only consisted of about 20 tractors, but it was still alot of fun, and to top it off I got a trophy for my class. All in all, I'd say the trial run was a good success.

Dave,
I am glad you had a good time, I bet the "little" man was glad to show everyone your trophy.
Tractor shows are a good chance to have some good quality family fun and that is what this is all about.
Thanks for sharing and I hope that there are many more shows to come in your future.

Thanks for all the good comments guys.

For Bruce and anyone else that's interested, here is the link to the event. Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor. The tractor show was in Lexington. It's only the 2nd or 3rd year for it in Lexington, so it is really just getting started.

Willie - If I make a drive out to Cali in 2014, it will be with an empty trailer so I can bring back one of those well-preserved Cat's from out there!

There is a D-9 not far off the Route 66 area for sale. Dave may want to look it up. Then he could have a big brother. You got the Ten looking real nice.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
