Hi homesteader57,
welcome to the BB.
Here are some scans that should help you to do the job after you have blocked up the front of the machine to get 12" between the equalizer spring support and the frame rails, and removed the oil pan.
Sorry for quality of scans as book has been wet at some time.
See how these scans help, and ask away as needed if, they are not all that you need.
You have some heavy work ahead of you with this one.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

PS grab these while they are up as we need to remove them later to post more data. Also the order they load is beyond my control so what order you get is it.

You need to take down the front section of the oil pan. Then you can remove the front support for the shaft and then take down the pump and ballancer unit. The pump and ballancer section is HEAVY. Take it all apart and look for anything that might have jammed up the gears and broke the shaft. Going together mount the pump and leave the drive gear and shaft hanging. Set the ballencer weights at bottom and lock with a bolt. There is a hole for this. Then put any cyl on TDC. Should be marks on flywheel under square cover. Then put support up meshing the drive gears and remove the lock bolt. The ballencer weights must be timed together and they turn at twice crankshaft speed. Everytime a pair of pistons are at tdc the both weights are at bottom.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
