Had the injection pump on my 1937 RD4 rebuilt and it works just fine except that I'm getting diesel fuel into the injection pump lubricating oil.
Pulled the side plate off and while the engine was running Did NOT observe any diesel leaking from the pumps and Did NOT observe any fuel draining from the drain tube on the bottom of the pump.
Used new gaskets and seals when I installed it.
Is there another place where diesel can get into the injection besides the top R.H. corner where the diesel fuel enters from the filter housing ?
Would appreciate some suggestions before I start taking the pump off.

I'd be suspect of that fuel tower to pump seal 2A3854. It's a little hard to make out what's going on around the aux. drive shaft in the 4G parts book but I don't see a seal between the filter tower and the pump housing down low. Have heard of a cracked filter tower leaking down in to that area also.

Tractor/picture looks good....hope you get the bugs out.

Kenwise and OM I don't have the book for the G in front of me but at the back of the injection pump {between injection pump housing and governor} at the end of the fuel passage there should be a small cover with an O-ring behind it.
It is almost always overlooked and have seen them leak on the U model.
Nice restoration !!!!

Hi Don,
I looked at that but the old style governor mounts fairly high up and appears that any leakage from the injection pump feed passage would be open to the rack area where it would drain from the housing through the tell tale line. I don't see where it would get into the lower lube oil section. Do you know if there is passage there.
