Most of you would have heard of cyclone" Yasi" which hit North Queensland last week. First Cat. 5 to Hit Qld in recorded History . Did tremendous Damage over vast area, fortunately only one Death known so far. And that was from a young Chap who was in a house bunked down , with a diesel generator running in same room . One of our Members Micheal Lyons [Lyoncat] in Townsville managed a short message to Me last Night . He was affected , with a tree over the corner of his house ,plus other damage , Cats OK. Still without power, has a small portable keeping things going . Other friends of Ours suffered much Damage but are OK . most of Qld has now been affected badly by fIrstly several large Flood events and now "Yasi" , Cyclone season usually lasts another couple Months ,and forecasts are for more before it finishes . High Pacific Ocean Temps [La Nina] are the cause Metorology tell Us.

Thanks for giving us an update, I am sure that it is even difficult to send an email.

The weather is given alot of people around the world trouble from floods to feet of snow.
Count everyday as a blessing be thankful for God, family and freinds to get you thru your time of need.

$10 billion + cleanup bill from the Jan floods in south QLD, $1.5 billion + cleanup from the cyclone and what does our govt. go and do? come up with a new tax to fix this up of course, all the mean while they plough forward with a $43 billion plan to put fibre optic cables in the ground to connect 22 million to broadband while the US will do 300 million with satelite technology, hmmmm. Bet all the people that donated monies to the appeals will be happy

Sorry to go off topic a bit, these events have been terrible and it is heartening to see the "good" stories coming out of it.

Hi, Lance.
It's good to hear that you are O.K.. Thanks also for the update on Lyoncat.

It was not just the wind speeds that were exceptional about but also its sheer size. I can't remember ever seeing a cyclone that covered as big an area as Yasi. Weather forecasters were predicting that people and places as far as 500 klms from the center could be affected.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I dropped Mike Meyer an E mail and he responded he and his family are OK. He's been building up levee tops to keep ahead of the rising water.
Everyone be careful
