It is my sad duty to report that Peter Fordham passed away on Saturday evening after a long battle with cancer. He will be fondly remembered by all ex-Chapter 2 members for his service as Chairman for 4 terms of office between 2001 and 2005.
Peter was instrumental in organising the successful working weekends at Ketton 2003 and 2005, Woolpit and laterly at Rougham, which were always very successful events. The Woolpit show in 2005, had two DW21's and two D9G's in action over the weekend.
The Chapter AGM in 2005 was held at his home in Badwell Ash Suffolk in 2005 when he stood down as Chairman and was replaced by Robert Wilson.
The attached photographs show Peter as I would like to remember him, the first operating Fred Knights D8 and Onions Box at Little Thaxsted in 2003 and the second at Ketton in 2005 when his DW15 Motor Scraper had its first public outing after a lengthly restoration.

Our condolences to Peter's family and friends. I know he was quite active in the hobby. I am sure he will be missed. God Bless.

I too am very sad to learn of Peter Fordham's passing. I first met Peter at the 2000 Chillicothe rally near Peoria. It is bizarre that you travel over 3000 miles to meet up with someone who lives 40 miles from you! Peter was not only an expert 'muckshifter', but a true gentleman in every sense of the word. The UK Caterpillar enthusiasts are very grateful to Peter for his leadership over a four year period.

Peter Fordham was a top Man that I thought the highest of, his manner and the way he was always smartly dressed was crack on, I new things were not looking good for him health wise, but I can only say how sorry I am to read this news.

I first met Peter in 2000 at the AGM show in England. We connected 2 more times on his trips to the U.S. and corresponded over the years. He was a remarkable man and I enjoyed knowing him. His passion for antique Caterpillar tractors was heartwarming. He will be missed.
