I have a book called Caterpillar Blade Graders. I haven't looked at it for a long time but I think it has this grader in it. What do you want to know? - Wally

I checked out my book and it did not have the sixty grader listed. The book was dated 1930. Caterpillar took over russell in December of 1928. The products listed were the 10, 15 , 20, Super Mogul, Super Reliance and Super Special graders. Number 3 Hiway Patrol, Sixty Elevating Grader, and 42 Giant Elevating Grader. Also listed was the 15 Trailer Patrol and 20 Planer.
All I can think of is that It wasn't being made at this time.

I do have the instruction and service books for these leaning wheel graders they start with a machine No 2A-1, I dont know much about them other than they had "All the Toys" (special equipment) ref, Scarifier, Back Sloper, Blade extensions plus end cutting edges, so with the leaning wheel setup they must have been a fair handfull to master, they also made a 60 elevating grader that started with Machine No K-1, the books I have on both models are dated 1929-30.

Hi Team,
specs for the Sixty are from my "Caterpillar Former Model Specifications" (No 11), Form No 10898-03, dated March 01 54, and are scanned below.
The grader was also known as a "77" and came in Power ( S/No 9C1--) or Hand ( S/No 2A1--) Controlled versions.
Line 8 will get you to the Specs for the 77 or Sixty Blade Grader on both pages.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

You have made my day! I joined the Cat Club to find information om my Cat 60 Leaning Wheel Grader. I played on it for countless hours as a boy and 45 yrs later was able to buy it. Took me 10 yrs to get the owners to sell it. It did not move an in in 45+ yrs. And it is absolutly 100% percent complete. I have had several offers to sell it but I am not very hungry so I'll hold on to it. It is of course rusty but in fantastic mechanical condition.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
