Nice looking unit! I've mowed alot of hay in my lifetime. I wonder what it would ride like to mow with a sickle bar on a CAT?

Hi Ruakina Cat
I was very interseted to see the photo's of your "CAT" 10 tractor, Serial No 00794 fitted with a No 10 mower, I have not heard of another mower in N.Z there were very few of them built. I note on my listing of Cat Ten owners in N.Z., which was printed in the early 1960's, that at that time your tractor was owned by a Mr.L.Old from Waitara. The lowest Serial No Ten tractor in N.Z. given is PT 00117 and the highest number being PT 4490. Your tractor was built during the 1929 production year. I hope that this info is of interest to you. There were 132 Ten's sold new in N.Z.

There was a 2-ton on a plinth in the kid's playground in Masterton - I wonder what happened to that one?
Cheers,
Neil.

Thanks for looking at my poor pics. The Ten did belong to M.L.OLD of Waitara we got it from his daughter. The mower was new with the Ten and the tin sign on the front of it came with it all so to be put on the front fence. We also have 2 other Tens.
The cat in Masterton has gone but i will ask my father where it whent as i think he knows?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
