post a photo of the hole, there are a couple units available. what you have left in mounting will determine which one you need. i got several. good luck.
Is it a battery or no-battery system?
I don't know when I will be able to get pics because the tractor is not at our shop right now. It is a no battery system. If anybody on here could post a pic of what the generator setup looks like I would greatly appreciate it.

The original setup was a choice of 75w (two lamp) or 140w (four lamp).
It is a four lamp setup. All the lights are still on it, but the generator is not. From the diagram it looks like the only think missing is the generator itself.
u should post engine s/n, over time anyone could put any number of lites on it.
I am pretty sure all the lights are original. My grandpa is the fourth person to own this D4. Uncle Sam owned it first, the the State of North Carolina owned it, then a man that lived in the mountains of NC bought it to build a driveway to his house.
I will try to get some pictures next week, but I think the generator search might be on hold. The guy that is working on it for us pulled the cylinder head off of it and apparently a rat had been living in one of the cylinders. You would be amzed what rat urine will do you a cylinder.
ok guys, here are some pics of the D4. I forgot to write down the serial number, but my grandpa said that it is a 2T.
you can see a little olive drab paint under the yellow in a few places![]()
