Hi guantjoh,
Thank You for the fantastic Video, sure was tight on some of those back lanes.
Reminds me of the days at The Dealer when we used to road 619C's, 966B's, No12 Graders, etc. to and from customers across the Melbourne metropolotin areas. Car drivers never seemed to get the idea that escort vehicles are there for a reason and these things take up a lot of road space and do not stop on a zac (dime)
Thanks again for the Video.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

John, there should be a law for having that much fun.Makes me think back to the days when we would road our 657's around town like they were kitty cars.Longest trip we made was about 150 miles, left early got home late.Sure was fun.Have a great time with your new toy.MikeDurkin

guantjoh,

I was just wondering if that Triple 6 had brakes and the retarder was working. Back in the day, the brakes on scrapers were good until the first time they wore out then the Pan (scraper), became the brakes on site. When we "roaded" a scraper (which wasn't too often due to permits and state laws, we used to bend a 10:00/20 tire between the apron and cutting edge and drag it for a brake. As it wore, we turned it along the way for new meat to stop with.

I forgot how big the 666 was. Your video put that in prospective. I wonder if the 657 tires were as tall. I don't remember any more.

Best of luck on your project...

Everything is in perfect working order including retarder.Karl has done well to save such a beast. The lanes are very tight when you squeeze such a large machine through them.😆
A good and interesting find there that will look fantastic with a lick of paint.

That model would run the old range transmission and end up with 9 speeds i believe, maybe you should get Quad and his buddies over to help with the resto as if it turns out like there stuff it will be fantastic.
