I just received my latest ACMOC magazine and want to compliment the Editors. As an International ACMOC member it makes the magazine more enjoyable to read when there are stories on Caterpillars history, restorations and technical tips as found in this edition. Perhaps you could include some old BB posts about restorations too if the photo's were still available, because it's obvious a lot of members rarely, or even never read or use this BB. I know of many collectors of old Cats who don't even own a computer! (yes, we are a little backward here in Australia, even I will admit that!)
For example I remember reading about "Pasochris" and his amazing journey restoring a wrecked D8 in Paso Robles, California a year or two back. I think we were all amazed that a young man with seemingly no mechanical training or special tools was willing and game to undertake that huge job in the middle of a field only on his weekends off, but with help and guidence of many here on the ACMOC BB he got the job done. What an outstanding result, and I think there were well over 2,000 "views" on the BB as that journey progressed, we were all following "Pasochris". A bit like the curent thread "Farming with steel" with the fantastic photo's of working Cats, why not share these stories with our ACMOC family who never use a computer or the BB. For example if ACMOC has 3,000 members or more, just look at the BB history of each member, when they were last logged on, or posted a Thread, or replied, I think you will find fewer than 200 members use the BB monthly. But then as "Swishy" likes to say, "I might be wrong about that too..."
regards
Mike
