Here's one my brother built...has a salvaged worm gear to turn heavy eninges/transmissions. You can see in the pics that he makes special adapter plates for specific use. It usually mounts on the side of engine/trans rather than the end, but could be used either way.![]()
that is just sweet!!!
For what it's worth...I received a sales brochure from Harbor Freight today...One item got my attention...
ENGINE STANDS...
750 lb. capacity....$44.99
1000 lb. capacity....$49.99
2000 lb. capacity....$99.99
How much does the D2 engine weigh (roughly, including head, flywheel housing, sump)? It'd have to run close if not over 2000# wouldn't it? I'd love to only spend $120 on a stand that could safely support the engine...
Cheers,
Neil.
I'm pretty sure it's over #2000. I think i'm going to build one like D6c10K has posted. I'm not going to pull the motor until a little more snow goes around here. Thanks for the info.

I don't believe the diesel engine weighs over 2,000 lbs...
You will take the pony and radiator off...
I suggest you start a new thread asking for the weight of the D-2 engine...
Or, send OzDozer a PM, or IanOz a PM(private message)...or better yet...Willie...the new ACMOC leader...
